ADABI is a first-level Professional Master’s programme organized by the University of Turin. It trains professionals specialized in the use of Data Science techniques for all those companies and institutions that deal, by mission, with great amounts of data. The Master in Data Analysis for Business Intelligence and Data Science has a pragmatic character. Students will have to face Data Quality, Data Management, Statistical Analysis of Data and Modelling (Analytics) methodologies, as well as Segmentation and Scoring, from an operational point of view with the use of both proprietary software (SAS, QlickView, Tableau) and open source software (Knime, R, Python). Other important keywords that identify this Master are Data Mining, Machine Learning and classification algorithms (Cluster Analysis, Decision Tree) and statistical information synthesis algorithms (Factor Analysis).
Why this master
This Master aims at providing tools to address and solve problems due to the ICT development, updating the skills of students on recent achievements in data analysis methodologies and data processing techniques.
Students will be introduced to methodologies of Data Quality and Data Management, Statistical Analysis of Data and Modeling (Analytics), Segmentation and Scoring from an operational point of view, with the use of both proprietary software (SAS®, Qlickview,Tableau) and open source software (Knime, R and Python).
The focus is on communication, Data visualization, reporting and storytelling design, and the transmission of results of data analysis by use of traditional media (Reports, PPTX presentations), new media (Facebook, Twitter, ecc) and Web Data Scraping.
The meaning of Big Data will be effectively clarified within different contexts (IOT and Web Scraping).
The Master will deal with the main Data analysis methodologies according to the standard Data Mining sequence: Sampling, Exploration, Transformation, Modeling, Assessment. At the same time, Machine Learning and automatic classification algorithms form an important part of the Master.
The whole Master is designed in such a way that graduates in all disciplines can be enrolled successfully, according to the interdisciplinary logic underlying the modern Data Scientist profession.
